I survived another day of running. Used the treadmill since it started raining. The first 8 minutes were doable. The 5 min walk was a Godsend. The final 8 minutes were hard. I had to slow down from my 4.3 - 4.5 mph to 4.0 and lower the incline. I managed to talk myself through it: "You can do 5 minutes, you've done it before. Ok, now you just have 3 minutes. You can do it. etc" Until I was down to the final 30 seconds and it almost felt like no big deal, but I was really grateful to be done too.
In the program you have the option starting in week 5 to go for distance or time. The actual training (not including warm-up) should have totalled 2 miles. Well, I went 2 miles with the warm-up and cool-down (yay for treadmill to easily keep track). I think overall I did pretty well though.
Friday I run for 20 minutes with no walking interval. I can do that, right? Heaven help me.....
