Dose of reality

Well, after feeling like the Living Lean wasn't applying to much to me because I'd not had any binges in that first week, I have made up for it this week. It is really hard to maintain a healthy diet on the road. We road-tripped to VA for the 4th of July, and despite staying in a hotel with a kitchenette, it had no dishes so  preparing our own meals wasn't really an option. Pizza, tacos, hamburgers, and theme park food were on the menu. Traveling down went pretty well food wise. I packed a lot of veggies and two trail mix bags, as well as home made granola bars. I paced myself with the trail mix and the veggies helped keep me awake in between. Coming home was a different story. I was really tired and it was hot (car a/c is out). I ate to stay awake. We had pizza to eat too so that it wouldn't go bad. Ugh. Thankfully today was fast Sunday so at least I had some caloric intake limit. Though we took dinner to the missionaries and made no bake cookies for them. I think I had 3 or 4 cookies on an empty stomach before we made it out the door to deliver the goods. The little voice in my head reminding me that I have a choice was quiet today - until after I ate and then I was able to listen to it much better.

We didn't make our run goal this week either though before we left on Wed my legs were itching to  do the run. By the end of our journey they were barely walking. But, we did make up for it with swimming and a trip to Busch Gardens aka cross training ;) Tomorrow the boys start camps at 9 am, so we will have to run early. I think we will re-do last week's since we didn't finish it out. I am feeling a little rumbly in my tummy too though so hopefully I can feel good enough to run.

Tomorrow is weigh in day. I am curious if there has been any changes. I think one of the points I wanted to make with my last post is that I am not necessarily interested in counting calories, but just eating a more balanced diet/healthier choices in general accompanied with exercise. If I can keep the binges under control, I think I will have a pretty good chance at successfully dropping the excess weight.
